Brown Bear Habitat
Alaskan Brown bears are found throughout the entire lower portion of Alaska. Grizzly
bears can be found in some U.S. national parks out west, in Canada and Alaska. The
Alaskan Brown bears are found around coastal areas that are close to salmon spawning
grounds. Because salmon make up such a large part of their diet, these bears are
looking to find dense cover nearby their favorite salmon sections of the rivers and
streams. Grizzly bears like a mixture of open meadows, woodlands, shorelines of lakes
and rivers that provide some type of cover.
